Also known as David’s Hole, Devil’s Hole on the French Side is a world-renowned geological site that can be visited via one of the Caribbean island flights offered by passenger airlines such as InterCaribbean Airways.
Overview
Devil’s Hole in St Maarten has formed thousands of years ago when a massive sea cave chamber collapsed down to the ocean.
Location
Devil’s Hole can be found toward the right of Baie Rouge or Red Beach. It is accessible via a small dirt road.
What to Expect
Once you reach Devil’s Pool, you will come across an arch of rock on the sea. You could swim from the beach and glide over to the two small arches where the water churns. It is best to enter from the arch on your left side; entering from the right side will have you crashing onto large rocks beneath the water.
Perfect Escape
Once you cross over to the other side of the arch, you’ll be treated to a serene haven of your own. Look for small marine creatures such as crabs scurrying on the edges. The area is popular for its marvellous scuba diving opportunities as well.
