Mount Lavinia Beach

One of the most popular beaches in Sri Lanka, Mount Lavinia Beach is located 30 minutes from downtown Colombo. You can use the promenade for an evening stroll and pop into one of the restaurants for a delicious bite. The area is also dotted with various accommodation options, including luxury boutique hotels in Colombo.

Visiting Colombo with kids? You should definitely visit Excel World Entertainment Park. This is an amusement park with a food court, an arcade, a few rides, a shopping mall, a foot spa, and a movie theatre.
Galle Face Green
Want more beach time? Visit Galle Face Green. The park facing the ocean is a favourite with locals as well as tourists. This is the largest open space in Colombo, and the street vendors selling a multitude of food items can be found here in abundance.
